Weber 757001 22.5-Inch One-Touch Gold Charcoal Grill, Green Review

Weber 757001 22.5-Inch One-Touch Gold Charcoal Grill, Green Feature

  • Heavy-gauge porcelain enamel prevents rust
  • One-Touch stainless steel cleaning system
  • Removable high capacity ash catcher
  • Hinged cooking grate for easy re-fueling
  • 10-year limited warranty

Weber 757001 22.5-Inch One-Touch Gold Charcoal Grill, Green Specifications

Weber's One-Touch Gold kettle grill is a great buy for anyone looking for a classic model with a few convenient extras. The design is sleek. The results are delicious.

As with all Weber grills, this kettle's lid and bowl are constructed of premium porcelain-enameled steel--which means not only does heat radiate evenly, but the grill will survive if it's left out in the rain. The cooking surface (22-1/2 inches in diameter) is big enough to accommodate six large steaks, twice as many burgers, or up to a dozen kebabs, and the grill's classic kettle shape keeps flare-ups to a minimum.

When designing this grill, Weber clearly kept convenience in mind. The grill's nickel-plated grate has two built-in hinged side openings that make adding more charcoal briquettes easy and safe, and, when the lid's not in use, it can hang from the bowl by a handy hook. The grill is durable, too. The porcelain-coated steel bowl and lid are exceptionally strong and designed never to rust, fade, or peel. The grill's aluminum vents and ash catcher won't rust either, and its tripod base, nylon handles, and all-weather wheels--besides being exceptionally sturdy--make the grill remarkably easy to maneuver. Weber's patented One-Touch cleaning system--a clever setup of lever-activated blades--sifts ash out of the kettle and into a cooking-pot-shaped ash catcher. You never have to get your hands dirty--and emptying the kettle takes only a few seconds.

To top it all off, Weber throws in a 31-page owner's guide filled with cooking tips and time-tested recipes for grilling everything from pork chops to bratwurst to Cornish hens.

BBQ Chicken - Southern Food and an Awesome Taste

Image : http://www.flickr.com

bbq chicken is one of the favorite foods that you'll find on the Southern menu - but its popularity is certainly not limited to the South. bbq chicken is beloved by folks from coast to coast and around the globe - and whether you prepare it at home or if you choose to eat it at your favorite restaurant, it's an American classic.

bbq chicken does not refer so much to the cooking method but to the flavor. It is doused in bbq sauce and baked or cooked on the grill. It can be tangy or sweet this is entirely dependent on the type of BBQ sauce that is used to cook the chicken in. barbecue is an American favorite and each region has particular favorite sauce and the resulting chicken that is cooked in it. This food, found in the southeast US is most likely to have a tang to it thanks to the vinegar based sauce that is favored in that region. There are tomato based sauces to which honey is added resulting in a sweet flavor.

Clearly the best way to cook BBQ chicken is on a grill. An open barbecue grill may not be practical so the next best thing is in the oven cooking. Baking chicken will also require a few minutes under the broiler to get the skin of the chicken a little charbroiled. Baking chicken in the oven will work out fine as long as the chicken is turned throughout the cooking period and there is sufficient sauce. The very first step in preparing any chicken recipe is to wash thoroughly and dry it. Marinating in the sauce, the bird can be marinated for up to twenty four hours before cooking. The oven should be preheated before putting the food in the oven. The best temperature to cook at is three hundred and fifty degrees. BBQ chicken cooked in the oven will still be close to the outdoor version. You can also use a rotisserie for cooking.

There are many restaurants especially in the southeast US that offer BBQ chicken on the menu. There are lunch specials that offer it and dinners to. Most restaurants do not actually barbeque their chicken because it is not practical; there are small family owned restaurants that do in fact use a barbeque grill to cook theirs. These family style restaurants are often favored by the locals for their outstanding tasty food.

The Top 10 BBQ Grill Tools

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Since barbequing and grilling have been called a cooking art, there are various bbq grill tools and gadgets that are recommended to have to make this favorite family activity fun and hassle-free. Because of many bbq grill gadgets available on the market from various manufacturers, the market is offering a wide range of brands and prices to suit the fancy of every cook.

For a regular barbeque activity, there are basic BBQ grill gadgets that are recommended to aid in barbequing. The initial step to consider in barbequing is to have good organization items and tools needed for the activity.

One recommended BBQ grill gadget is a butane lighter, which is the practical alternative to matches. It possesses a long handle and nose that enables the lighting of the grill to be done with ease, safety and is more practical to use than lighting a match. The second BBQ grill gadget is a meat thermometer, which is vital during the cooking process to check the doneness of the meat. With the meat thermometer, the repeated opening of the lid to check if the meat should be avoided. The frequent opening of the lid of the griller will effect the heat temperature and the cooking of the meat. A digital roasting thermometer is advisable to use as it allows the reading of the temperature without opening the lid.

The third gadget in the grill recommendations is the chimney starter. This is especially necessary for those working on a charcoal grill. This is like a charcoal basket acting as the heat source to start lighting the charcoal. When light ignites, the coal is poured into the grill. The fourth grill tool is a grill tong. This tool is necessary to turn and pick up the foods. Choose grill tongs that have long handles and with spring hinges.

The fifth BBQ grill gadget is a standard kitchen timer. This is one standard must-have for cooks to ensure that there is no overcooking for any dish being cooked. The sixth BBQ grill gadget is a basting brush or mop. Since barbequing requires the frequent applying and basting of the sauce or marinade, the basting brush is most efficient to use to ensure the continuous flavouring the barbeque dish. A metal spatula is the seventh BBQ grill gadget which is considered an important grill item because it is used to turn over large cuts of meat with the use of its long handle and wide stainless steel blade.

The eighth BBQ grill gadget is the long-handled fork, which is essential to lift large cuts of meat out of the grill. It is not recommended to poke the meat once it is done so that the juices will not escape into the grill. The ninth item to have is flame-retardant gloves, which are important to protect the hands from the heat grill and coals. The 10th item is a wire grill brush to quickly clean up food residues before it hardens in the grill.

All of these items will make your cooking experience much more convenient.

The moment has arrived. You finally decided to break down and buy a bbq smoker. Thing is, you're still a bit concerned that it's going to be a challenging and labor intensive process. Do not worry. A well-built high quality smoker will basically watch over itself - leaving you with minimal "at the grill" tending. All you have to do is get the meat ready, fire up the smoker, check in on things now and again, and that's it. Think you can handle it? If so, you're in for some awesome smoked barbecue.

Preparing the Meat

The first step in the barbecue smoking process is to prepare your meat selection. Some barbecue aficionados put the meat in virtually naked, with no seasonings, so that all the flavor can come from the smoke. However, there's no reason you can't spice things up a bit with a good barbecue rub. You'll find plenty of barbecue rub recipes on the web, and channels like the Food Network have regular barbecue shows and online features that will get you started in this area.

Prepping the Charcoal

Once your meat is prepared for smoking, you'll need to get your smoker ready. If you're using a bullet style smoker, I recommend getting your coals burning by using a barbecue chimney - basically a tall metal can that concentrates heat on the coals to get them going quickly. It's very important that you not use the pre-treated style charcoal briquettes, as the chemicals they're soaked with will make your meat taste bad. My personal favorite is natural lump charcoal. It's as simple and pure as it sounds, and it can be found in most local grocery or home improvement stores.

How to BBQ Tri-Tip - A Guide

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Its getting to be summer time and that means that every weekend from now till Labor Day is more time to perfect your craft of bbqing. I would like to talk to you guys about the proper way to bbq a tri-tip.

For those of you who are not from the West Coast the tri-tip is probably a foreign word. The tri-tip is a cut of beef from the bottom sirloin primal cut. It is similar to a roast but has the flavor of a steak.

There are multiple ways to prepare a tri-tip: you can marinade it over night or even just do a dry rub right before you put it on. I personally do a dry rub then wait until the last 10 minutes of cooking and mop it with spicy barbecue sauce. This creates a nice crust to the tri-tip while still having that awesome center flavor.

The best way to cook a tri-tip is to slow cook it over in-direct heat at 325 degrees. The ideal time for cooking is roughly 60 to 90 minutes depending on the size. As a rule of thumb you want to cook the meat 30 minutes for every pound. For example, if you had a 2-pound tri-tip 60 minutes should be about right.

Make sure you don't cook this directly over coals, as tri-tip tends to release a lot of fat grease that can fall on the coals and create massive flare up. Keep a cold beer handy in case there is a flare up to douse the flames.

If you want it to end up medium rare then pull the tri-tip off once the center reaches 140 degrees. It will still continue cooking after it has been pulled off SO DO NOT COVER IT WITH FOIL ONCE IT IS OFF. Too many people make the mistake of covering the tri-tip in foil before putting it on the grill. This tends to make the tri-tip gray and overdone.

It is best served warm and medium rare.

BBQ Safety Tips

When it comes to barbecuing, what could be more fun than whipping up sumptuous food on the grill in the company of family and friends? The thing of course is finding the right place for grilling and barbecuing. One favorite spot among true barbecue aficionados would be their very own backyard or outdoor kitchen with their own brick barbecue pit. Actually, any outdoor area is a potential spot for a barbecue but truth be known, the best places for a barbecue are the safest ones.

Choose a location for your bbq grill that is away from trees, leaves, brush and overhanging limbs. Do not setup your gill in a high traffic area where someone may accidentally brush up against the hot grill.

When barbecuing in your backyard, be sure that you're 5 to 10 feet away from your house or any material that can potentially catch fire. Also, be sure the grill is stable and is away from children or pets that may bump into it. It would also be a good idea to have a water supply nearby like a garden hose.

If you live in an apartment building with a balcony or rooftop or any other outdoor space, be sure to consult with your building administrator (or in some instances, your local fire department) regarding specific restrictions. Generally, using charcoal and gas grills indoors or anywhere above the first storey is prohibited so you may want to consider electric grills instead for your barbecuing efforts.

Another great place to barbecue is in a campsite. Camping is such an exciting way to experience the great outdoors and barbecuing food over a campfire is definitely one of those practical yet cozy things you can do. Just be sure that you are at least 15 feet away from your tent and other camping gears.

Protect yourself by using the correct bbq utensils such as oven mitts, thongs and a good spatula. Avoid wearing loose clothing while near the grill.

Always leave the lid to a gas grill open when lighting the fire so the gas does not build up under the cover. If the fire does not initially start, turn off the gas, leave the lid open and wait for at lest five minutes before trying again.

It is always a good idea to give your grill a checkup before using for the first time of the season and always store your tanks outside in a upright position where the temperature will never go over 125 degrees.

Of course, it's not just the atmosphere of being outdoors that can make a barbecue fun and special. It's also in the delicious barbecue dishes that you share with your loved ones. To make it all the more special, try a variety of bbq rubs, marinades, salsas and BBQ sauce to capture the true taste of great outdoor barbecuing.

Image : http://www.flickr.com

We all know that everybody enjoys grilling, some of us believe that it is an art. Commonly, we are mistaken in grilling with raw chicken, charred steaks and burnt burgers. One of the hardest meats that are to be grilled is the chicken. It is very hard to grill the chicken perfectly; it is always overcooked or raw. Who would want to eat a burnt or a raw chicken? For you to perfectly grill a chicken, here are some tips for you to try when grilling marinated chicken.

· It is always preferred to use low fire in grilling in order to avoid burnt meat. Wait until the chicken is tender and moist before adding any sauces. In order for you to know when the meat is tender and moist, it is when your chicken is nearly cooked. This way there would be no more fire flare ups since it is the sauce that produces them.

· For you to keep the chicken moisten, constantly apply an apple juice. It is not advisable that you use wine on grilling marinated chicken. This is one of the reason fire is produced while grilling. One of the main reasons why meats are obtaining burns is because of the sugar mixed with the sauce. But if you apply your sauce when it is nearly cooked, it will not burn. But if you would want not to use sugar, you could always use rubs. This is a good way to avoid burns in your meat.

· If you have a hard time in telling whether your chicken is almost cooked for you to apply the sauce, you could always purchase a meat thermometer. It's a very handy gadget in grilling; it gives tone alert when the meat is almost cooked. This way you will not have undercooked nor overdone meals. This also saves more of your time, if you are grilling and at the same time need to do other
chores.

· You could leave the griller and wait until it gives the tone alert. Grilling marinated chicken is the main reason why our meats produce some very nice flavors and it makes our meats juicier.

· Marinating gives flavors to your meat, it is composed of seasoning, acid and oil. The usual used acids are citrus juice, vinegar and wine, this tenderizes the meat by breaking down the hard fibers from the meat. Oils sucks up the seasonings that were placed into the meat, which then making our meats so juicy and moist. Grilling marinated chicken is truly a very good way to have a delicious meal. Here are some tips in marinating:

· It is better to marinate meat with a big surface area because it can easily absorb the marinade. But, when marinating a very compact meat, it is advised to do it by injecting it into the meat or just cut through the meat then massaging it with the marinade with your hands.

· If you are marinating a large size of meats, longer time is required for it to absorb the flavor. For such small sizes, it is between 30 minutes and one hour.

· If you want your grilling marinated chicken to be brown, take the meat out of the marinade then dry it, then you could already brown it.

· If you want to save energy in cleaning, better use Ziploc bag in grilling marinated chicken, but a baking dish or glass bowl would also work.

· When marinating the meat, turn it several times and it is preferred to be put in the refrigerator.

· Reusing the marinade for another stock of meat is not good. If you wish to reserve some for your dipping sauce, better do it before marinating it with the meat.

Grilling marinated chicken can really give you a perfect meal anytime!

Everyone who owns a bbq probably wishes that they knew how to bbq better. Are you one of them?
Most of the time it is the small things that can turn an average BBQ into a brilliant BBQ and here we have compiled some BBQ tips to help you go from amateur BBQer to professional BBQer.

Tip one: make sure your meat is at room temperature before you put it on the BBQ. If you BBQ cold meat then it won't cook evenly and you end up burning the outside and having no heat in the centre of your meat.

Tip two: after you BBQ your meat make sure you allow it to rest in a warm place, off the BBQ. Resting meat allows the juices that have been pushed to the centre of the meat during cooking to redistribute through the meat ensuring it's more tender and juicy.

Tip three: most BBQer's know that you should only turn your steak once. Over turning meat on the BBQ will lead to meat that is tough and chewy, and no one likes that.

Tip four: sausages are a favourite at most BBQ's an in almost all cases sausages has been speared with a fork to avoid them bursting. This is actually a BBQ no-no as when you BBQ sausages with holes you are letting the moisture escape from the meat and allowing the fat to drip onto your BBQ's flames. Sausages end up being dry and shrivelled and you risk a fat fire at your BBQ. BBQ your sausages without the holes and see if you can taste the difference.

Tip five: cleanliness is next to godliness, especially at a BBQ. Keeping your barbecue clean of old fat, dead insects and decaying food will mean your next BBQ will be fresh and clean, and guests won't be able to taste the residue of the last BBQ. Also, it is very important to know that BBQs are notorious for incidents of food poisoning. To avoid sick guests be careful of cross contamination, especially with raw and cooked food. NEVER put cooked food in a place where raw food was.

Tip six: BBQs can often be the same thing over and over - steaks, sausages, hamburgers- so why not be adventurous with your next BBQ? Try different types of dishes or even different types of BBQing styles, for example slow cooking, using dry rubs on meat or even smoking. Your guests will definitely be impressed at your next BBQ.

Ready to use each of these BBQ tips? Then why not organise a barbecue for next weekend. BBQing better is not hard and by following these tips your friends and family will definitely crown you Barbecue King. But remember a BBQ King is only as good as the BBQ he cooks on so invest in a high quality BBQ that won't let you down.
